Frequently asked questions

Any questions?

Are you a zoo?

Not quite. La Perle aux Oiseaux is a wildlife refuge: our residents are animals that were injured, seized or can no longer live in the wild, and those that can are released. You visit it like a wildlife park, across 3 hectares and over 100 species, but every ticket pays for their care. Many visitors look for us as “Marrakech zoo”: that’s us, 15 minutes from the centre.

Do I need to book?

Yes. All visits are by booking only, for the well-being of our recovering animals. Choose your time slot online in under a minute: you receive the confirmation on WhatsApp. Same-day booking is possible up to 2 hours before your time slot.

What are your prices?

Adults (13 and over) 120 DH, children aged 2 to 12 80 DH, under 2 free. Family Pass 360 DH for 2 adults and 2 children. Explorer’s booklet 45 DH per child. Guided tour: 600 DH for the group, up to 6 people, 1 hour with the keeper, plus each person’s entry. With transfer: 350 DH per return taxi, 6 people per taxi, plus entries. Birthday party: 1,200 DH package for up to 10 children. Everything is paid on site, in cash or by card.

When can we come?

All year round, Tuesday to Sunday, with arrival at 10:00, 11:00, 15:00 or 16:00. Closed on Mondays. Never more than 50 people in the park at the same time, so about 25 per time slot: at weekends, book early.

How long does the visit take?

Allow about 1h30 for a self-guided visit. The guided tour lasts 1 hour, the birthday party 3 hours, and the visit with transfer about 2 hours in total.

Is there parking?

Yes, there is a car park at the entrance of the refuge.

Can I come with a pushchair or in a wheelchair?

Yes, both are welcome. The paths are made of earth and fine gravel: they are passable, with a little pushing. Message us on WhatsApp before you come if you would like someone to help you on arrival.

Can I cancel or change my booking?

Yes, free of charge: up to 24 hours before for a visit, up to 7 days before for a birthday party. Nothing is paid in advance.

Birthday party: what should I bring?

The cake, snacks and drinks. We provide 3 hours in the park, feeding the animals, a decorated table and invitation cards. Accompanying adults pay 100 DH each. Optional: the photo safari (30 DH per child) and the explorer’s booklet (40 DH per child).

Do you welcome schools and groups?

Yes, and these outings are arranged on quotation rather than booked online: the programme depends on the children’s ages, the length of the visit and the workshops you want. On the programme: safari, photography and feeding, with the petting farm and a covered workshop room; accompanying adults are free. Message us on WhatsApp or email us with the number of pupils, their ages and your preferred date.

Are dogs allowed?

No: for the peace and quiet of our residents, pets stay at home.

Which languages do you speak?

French, English, Arabic and Darija. Write to us in whichever you prefer.
